My respect for the power of the home cooked meal stems from my parents' devotion to family dinners and my mother's ability to make something from nothing. She is and has always been a wonderful hostess and supportive, hardworking mother; my inspiration to say the least. Even when I lived alone for a few years after college, I would spend the evening cooking just for myself. Now married, I am fortunate to have an adventurous husband, a ready and willing guinea pig for my experimentation. We live in a rowhouse in Lawrenceville, a revitalized neighborhood in the city of Pittsburgh filled with wonderful and creative people. We love it here! My professional life is a far cry from my workings at home. I am an electrical engineer for a small firm in Etna, PA. I am a graduate of Penn State, and am definitely one of those people who looks back longingly on those college years. Fortunately, I keep in close touch with many of my friends from those days; they will surely make it into my postings among my other friends and family who I hold dear and hope to satisfy enough that they will come back for more. This is my first crack at blogging, so I'm open to suggestions. I am hopeful that this will bring some value to you and me both! Thanks for reading!
